Embroidered scenes (bordados) of everyday life and festivals on the Altiplano of Peru. Each piece tells a specific story of an aspect of life in the village of Chijnaya. The hand dyed thread is made from alpaca fleece that is appliqued by embroidery to bayeta, which is a hand-woven product made from sheeps's wool. Artisans are re-learning the weaving of bayeta and have access to looms, which were purchased therough the assistance of the Chijnaya Foundation.
